ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A piggyback I.V. Administration set is disclosed for alternately administering primary and secondary liquids to a patient at different flow rates and pressures and for automatic switching between them. In preferred form, the set comprises a Y-site junction device joining two inlet tubings and one outlet tubing for the liquids, a flow rate controller below the Y-site device for controlling the higher flow rate, a second controller above the Y-site device for controlling the flow rate of the lower flow rate, and check valve means in the primary flow path to prevent flow of secondary liquid into primary inlet tubing. Preferred forms for the Y-site device are also disclosed which prevent flow of air from the secondary inlet tubing into the outlet tubing.
