An apparatus and method used in dental panoramic and cephalographic x-ray equipment provides automatic adjustment of the pre-programmed exposure factors in order to obtain optimisation of the grey scale of the talent image on various kinds of x-ray detectors, such as the radiographic film or x-ray image detector plates. A sensor, such as photo diodes, detects the intensity of the radiation passed through the patient and incident on the x-ray detector and feeds it to a control unit. The control unit provides a computed simulation of the latent image grey level and adjusts the programmed exposure factors in order to establish the grey level of the latent image at the required reference value.
L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé pour un appareil de radiographie dentaire panoramique et de céphalographie, permettant un réglage automatique des facteur d'exposition pré-programmés de manière à obtenir une optimisation de l'échelle de gris de l'image latente sur divers types de détecteurs à rayons X, tels que le film radiographique ou des plaques de détection d'images radiographiques. Un détecteur, tel que des photodiodes, détecte l'intensité du rayonnement qui passe à travers le patient et qui est dirigé sur le détecteur de rayons X, puis il transmet ces informations à l'unité de commande. L'unité de commande fournit une simulation informatisée du niveau de gris de l'image latente et elle règle les facteurs d'exposition programmés de manière à donner au niveau de gris de l'image latente une valeur de référence requise.
