AUTOMATIC GAIN CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR RADIO RECEIVER Abstract An intermediate frequency amplifier stage includes a tuned circuit which is shunted by a transistor utilized as an emitter follower, the emitter follower being re- sponsive to the amplitude of a detected signal to lower the "R" of the tuned circuit as the amplitude of the de- tected signal increases and to increase the "Q" of the tuned circuit as the amplitude of the detected signal de- creases, thus effecting the gain of the intermediate fre- quency amplifier stage inversely respective the amplitude of the detected signal.
