ABSTRACT OF THE DESCLOSURE An automatic head scan tracking system for a video tape recorder having two rotary magnetic heads, two electro-mechanical transducers for moving the rotary magnetic heads respectively and two generators for generating sawtooth wave signals to be applied to the transducers respectively. Each beginning of the sawtooth wave signals is selected in advance of each beginning of head scanning.
