ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An automatic hydraulic turbine starting device, compris- ing a gate limit mechanism limiting the width of opening of the wicket gate of said hydraulic turbine, and an actuating element of the sensor of the head of the water supplied to said hydraulic turbine, said element having a profile cam, said mechanism and said element being connected with the main distributing valve of the wicket gate servomotor through a leverage. The gate limit mechanism is connected with the actuating element of the water head sensor through a kinema- tic linkage comprising a lever connected with a solenoid core, the speed switch of the hydraulic turbine being con- nected into the circuit of the solenoid winding, and the speed switch being adjusted to operate on attainment of the predetermined rotational speed by the hydraulic turbine ro- tor. The proposed device enables a gradual rotational speed rise to be attained by the hydraulic turbine rotor until the rated speed is achieved, while the hydraulic turbine overspeed at startup is obviated.
