ABSTRACT The invention provides an automatic coupling for a lance as used in steel production to couple the lance head to the lance body, whereby the substances for refining and the cooling fluid for the lance can be passed through the coupling head. The connection is provided to the coupling head (6) by coupling hooks (4), which are rotatably mounted by eccentric elements and through actuation of these eccentric elements are vertically movable.
