A system for supplying a dampening liquid to a water fountain tray in a printing press to maintain the desired amount of the liquid in the tray comprises a sealed dampening liquid container mounted on outside wall of tray. The container has vertical side walls, a top and bottom wall, an inlet and outlet port in the bottom, and a spring loaded, pressure sensitive valve installed in the inlet port. The inlet port is connected to a pressurized liquid supply line, and the outlet port is connected to a line which supplies liquid to the tray. The spring loaded valve can be adjusted to any liquid level within the tray.
