A chair for a chair lift comprising a suspension bar (9) and a pivotable weather protection cover (5) carried thereby. Movably mounted to the suspension bar (9) above the weather protection cover (5) is an actuating device (11) which is movable by a control device (13, 14) associated with the station and the movement of which is transmitted by way of a transmission means (8a, 8b) to the pivotal movement of the weather protection cover (5).To lock the closed weather protection cover, it is provided that a locking device (16) is arranged on the actuating lever (11) above the weather protection cover (5) and that the locking device (16) for locking the weather protection cover (5) in the closed position locks the actuating lever (11) on the suspension bar (9) or a member (17) connected thereto.
