A method for navigating a viewpoint of a virtual endoscope in a lumen of a structure is provided. The method includes the steps of (a)determining an initial viewpoint of the virtual endoscope, the initial viewpoint having a first center point and first direction; (b)determining a longest ray from the initial viewpoint to the lumen, the longest ray having a first longest ray direction (step 204); (c)determining a second direction between the first direction of the initial viewpoint and the first longest ray direction (step 210); (d)turning the viewpoint to the second direction (step 212) and moving the initial viewpoint a first predetermined distance in a first direction of the initial viewpoint (step 214); (e)calculating a second center point of the viewpoint (step 216); (f)moving the viewpoint to the second center point (step 218); and repeating steps (b) through (f) until the viewpoint reaches an intended target.
L'invention concerne un procédé de navigation permettant de déplacer le point d'observation d'un endoscope virtuel dans la lumière d'une structure. Les étapes de ce procédé consistent à : (a) déterminer un premier point d'observation de l'endoscope virtuel, ce premier point présentant un premier centre et une première direction, (b) identifier le faisceau le plus long à partir du premier point d'observation, ce faisceau le plus long présentant une première direction (étape 204), (c) identifier une seconde direction située entre la première direction du point d'observation initial et la première direction du faisceau le plus long (étape 210), (d) orienter le point d'observation dans la seconde direction (étape 212) et déplacer le point d'observation initial sur une première distance prédéterminée dans la première direction du point d'observation initial (étape 214), (e) calculer un second centre du point d'observation (étape 216), (f) déplacer le point d'observation vers le second centre (étape 218), et répéter les étapes (b) à (f) jusqu'à ce que le point d'observation atteigne la cible souhaitée.
