23 AUTOMATIC SEAL DEPRESSURIZATION SYSTEM ABSTRACT A method and apparatus for protecting spaced high pressure seals in a high pressure chamber from damage caused by retained high pressure between the seals after the high pressure in the chamber has been released. A one-way check valve is coupled to the area between the seals and to the interior of the high pressure chamber to automatically vent the area between the seals only when the high pressure in the chamber has been released or removed.
