This invention relates to systems in which fluid, usually liquid fuel (typically diesel fuel oil) is transferred from a supply station to a tank on a vehicle such as a truck or bus by means of a hose, an automatic shutoff nozzle and a fill neck on the vehicle tank. In the system, both a nozzle extension and a quieting tube arrangement are provided which extend into the tank so that they are in close proximity to the bottom. In this manner the impact of fuel forming is substantially reduced and hence false shut offs of fuel supply are eliminated.

L'invention a trait à des systèmes dans lesquels un fluide, habituellement du carburant liquide (normalement de l'huile combustible pour diesel) est transféré d'un poste de ravitaillement à un réservoir d'un véhicule comme un camion ou un autobus. Le transfert se fait au moyen d'un tuyau, d'une buse de ravitaillement à fermeture automatique et d'un col de remplissage se trouvant sur le réservoir du véhicule. Le système comprend à la fois un prolongement de la buse de ravitaillement et un tube d'atténuation s'avançant dans le réservoir de sorte qu'ils se trouvent près du fond de celui-ci.
