ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An automatic stud driving tool having greater concen- tricity and reduced run-out includes a cylindrical hollow body; a carriage disposed within the body including jaws for selectively gripping a stud; a driven head rotatable within the body and selectively engageable with the car- riage; a snap ring assembly; and an annular retaining groove located on the inside of the hollow body. The driven head, located partially within the hollow body, is retained within the body by inserting the snap ring assem- bly into the retaining groove.
