ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A system for use at a single work station of an assembly line for welding components to vehicle bodies of various types. The system has a pair of vertical endless conveyor assemblies that are displaceable at equal speed and are located each on one side of the assembly line. The conveyor assemblies carry gates in succession, each gate of one conveyor assembly pairing with one gate of the other conveyor assembly and the gates of a pair facing one another when they are located on each side of a vehicle body over which components are to be welded, the number of pairs of gates corresponding to the number of types of vehicle bodies to be welded. The gates are provided with clamping units that are distributed thereon to correspond to one of the types of vehicle bodies for welding components relative to the said types.
