ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to an automatic temperature control device for an electric appliance such as an electric blanket comprises a heater element, a sensor made of a thermosensitive material having an impedance, which changes as the temperature varies, for detecting the tempera- ture of the heater element, a switching element such as an SCR for regulating the supply of electric power to the heater element, and a plurality of electronic circuits for driving the switching element in response to an output signal from a temperature responsive circuit which comprises a transistor and a diode connected with each other in a specific configuration to detect an output signal from the sensor, whereby the deterioration of the sensor due to the polarization thereof may be prevented and thus a safe operation of the electric appliance under the control of the automatic temperature control device may be assured.
