ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: A puller adapted to apply an axial force on an elongated member for shifting it with respect to a reference body, of the type comprising a cylinder in which a piston is mounted to be movable in translation, jaws capable of opening and closing so as to come into engagement with the elongated member or release the elongated member, means for moving the piston away from a reaction member which is adapted to bear against the reference body and jaw actuating means for putting the jaws into engagement with elongated member when the piston is moved away from the reaction member.
