A system for automating the control and regulation of machines and plants in the plastics industry, especially for blow-moulding machines, with programmable controllers via which the control and regulation functions of the machines and plants can be implemented as desired and which have at least one operating and monitoring device and a local bus (user platform), in which the programmable controllers have digital technology units (10) imitating individual electric circuit components by means of which the desired control and regulation functions can be modularly implemented and which are connected to the user platform via data interfaces.
