An automobile body structure having a crossbeam connecting left and right center pillars. The crossbeam has a pipe-like beam body and gussets mounted to the opposite ends of the beam body. A load inputted to one of the center pillars is transmitted via the crossbeam to the other center pillar. The inputted load is dispersed through those two center pillars to prevent the center pillar having received the input load from deformation.
