An automobile warming-up apparatus includes a tank containing phase change material that can form supercooled liquid, a triggering system in the tank to induce the phase change from liquid state to solid state. The tank is in a container, which is connected with the heating/cooling system of an automobile's engine. Therefore, the coolant of the heating/cooling system can recirculate through the container. When an automobile is running, the coolant is heated in the engine and circulated through the container. The heated coolant melts the phase change material in the tank, and changes them from solid state to liquid state. Therefore, the heat is stored in the phase change material in latent heat form. When an automobile is not running, the atmosphere cools the coolant and phase change material. As long as the time is allowed, they will have the same temperature as the atmosphere. The phase change material will form a suppercooled liquid. When an automobile is started, the triggering system induces the phase change material from liquid state to solid state. This process releases the heat stored in the phase change material. Through the coolant in the heating/cooling system, the released heat is carried to the engine and the heater core, and used to warm up the engine and the cabin of the automobiles or like.
