The invention relates to an automotive machine (1) for producing carriageways by the stabilisation of insufficiently stable ground or by the reconditioning of road surfaces. Said machine comprises: a chassis (4) that is supported by running gear (2); a working roller (20), which is mounted to pivot in relation to the chassis (4) and whose shaft is mounted in pivoting arms (42) and runs transversally to the direction of travel; a cover (28) that surrounds the working roller (20); an internal combustion engine (32) that is supported by the chassis and comprises at least one output shaft (34) for the motive power that is required to drive the working roller, at least one mechanical power transmission unit (36) transmitting the motive power from the output shaft (34) to the working roller (20). According to the invention, the internal combustion engine (32) is positioned in a fixed manner on the chassis (4) between the pivoting arms (42) and the mechanical power transmission unit(s) (36), together with the working roller (20) that is mounted in the pivoting arms, can be pivoted about the axis of the output shaft (34) of the internal combustion engine (32).

L'invention concerne une machine automotrice (1) servant à réaliser des voies de circulation par stabilisation de sols insuffisamment stables ou par recyclage de revêtements routiers. Cette machine automotrice comprend: un châssis (4) supporté par un train de roulement (2); un rouleau de travail (20), qui est monté de manière à pouvoir pivoter par rapport au châssis (4) et dont l'axe (1) monté dans des bras oscillants s'étend transversalement à l'axe de déplacement de la machine; un capot (28) entourant le rouleau de travail (20); un moteur à combustion interne (32) supporté par le châssis et comprenant au moins un arbre de sortie (34) servant à fournir la puissance nécessaire à l'entraînement du rouleau de travail; au moins un dispositif de transmission de force (36) mécanique transmettant la puissance d'entraînement de l'arbre de sortie (34) au rouleau de travail (20). Selon l'invention, le moteur à combustion interne (32) est monté de manière fixe sur le châssis (4) entre les bras oscillants (42). Le ou les dispositifs de transmission de force (36) mécaniques peuvent pivoter avec le rouleau de travail (20), monté dans les bras oscillants, autour de l'axe de l'arbre de sortie (34) du moteur à combustion interne (32).
