An automotive refuelling bib device protects the surface of an automobile adjacent a fuel fill pipe in a fuel filling compartment of the automobile. The device comprises a single sheet of flexible, resilient and fuel resistant material having a mounting aperture therein adjacent the top edge to receive the fuel fill pipe to suspend the sheet from the fuel fill pipe. A spout on the front face of the sheet tapers downwardly and inwardly along the bottom edge to direct drips of fuel on the front face, forwardly and away from a general plane of the front face. A fastening mechanism selectively secures the bottom edge of the sheet folded up towards the top edge in a storage position in which the sheet is wholly received in the fuel filling compartment.
