There is provided an assemblage useful for autoradiography comprising, in order: a) a sample layer containing a radioactively labeled biological sample in contact with b) a phosphor layer containing a phosphor capable of absorbing the energy given off by said radioactively labeled biological sample to produce light energy; said phosphor layer being carried on a transparent support; c) and, in contact with the surface of said transparent support opposite that of the phosphor layer, means for recording said light energy. The phosphor layer is preferably a gadolinium oxysulfide containing layer and the means for recording light energy is preferably a photographic film containing a tabular grain emulsion.
