An apparatus for removing particulates from a gas stream is described comprising a filter through which gas may be caused to flow, at least one first electrode for producing an atmospheric glow discharge located near to but spaced apart from the filter, and at lease one second counter electrode, the electrodes being connected to an AC voltage supply generating an AC voltage in a frequency within the range of 1 kHz to 200 kHz. A method of removal of particulates from a gas stream comprising causing the gas to flow through such an apparatus is also described.
La présente invention concerne un appareil permettant d'éliminer des particules d'un flux de gaz, qui comprend un filtre (1) au travers duquel on peut faire s'écouler un gaz, au moins une première électrode (15) permettant de produire une décharge luminescente, située près du filtre mais espacée de celui-ci, et au moins une seconde contre-électrode (19), les électrodes étant connectées à une alimentation en courant alternatif (AC) générant une tension AC dans une fréquence allant de 1 kHz à 200 kHz. Cette invention concerne aussi un procédé permettant d'éliminer des particules d'un flux de gaz, qui consiste à faire passer ce flux à travers cet appareil.
