An autotransfusion system for collecting blood from a patient and reinfusing the blood back into the patient is disclosed. The system includes a collection unit, a manually operable portable suction evacuator removably connected to the collection unit, and a blood reinfusion bag removably connected to the collection unit. The collection unit includes a collection chamber that is oversized relative to the volume of blood that the unit is intended to contain, and an airflow port located and oriented in the collection chamber to prevent blood from leaking into the port when the collection unit is oriented upright or on its side. When connected to the patient, the collection unit and portable suction evacuator are maintained free of blood by enclosing them within a substantially transparent, flexible envelope. The envelope enables the unit and evacuator to be connected and set-up for proper operation while preventing blood from contacting the outer surfaces of the unit and evacuator.
L'invention porte sur un dispositif d'auto-transfusion destiné à recueillir le sang d'un patient et à le lui réinjecter. Ce dispositif comporte un poste de collecte, un évacuateur à aspiration, portatif et commandé à la main, relié de façon amovible au poste de collecte, ainsi qu'un sachet servant à la réinjection du sang, également relié de façon amovible au poste de collecte. Le poste de collecte comporte une chambre de collecte surdimensionnée par rapport au volume de sang que le poste est susceptible de contenir et un orifice pour flux d'air situé dans la chambre de collecte et orienté de manière à empêcher une intrusion de sang lorsque le poste de collecte est orienté verticalement ou bien de son coté. Lorsqu'ils sont raccordés à un patient, le poste de collecte et l'évacuateur portatif à aspiration sont mis à l'abri du sang grâce à une enveloppe souple et sensiblement transparente les renfermant tous deux. Cette enveloppe permet de raccorder le poste de collecte et l'évacuateur et de les installer de manière à assurer leur bon fonctionnement tout en évitant que du sang n'entre en contact avec leurs parois extérieures.
