The "AUTRY TREMOLO" is a guitar tremolo that differs immensely from the guitar tremolos used today. The "AUTRY TREMOLO" is activated by a paddle fixed to the rear of the bridge. Pressure on the paddle activates the tremolos spring mechanism. Two tension springs are attached to the paddle down through the guitar body to a lower hanger and tension adjusting bolt. The tremolo operates on two hinge blocks that are drilled for mounting on the guitar. The housing is drilled at the rear to accept adjustable bridge saddles and allow rear string loading. The trem setter consists of a hanger fixed to the paddle with an adjusting screw. This is to control the height of the tremolo, and allow proper tension on the adjusting screw. Approximately a half a pound of pressure eliminates string pitch variation that may be caused by temperature, or slight hand pressure on the paddle.
