An auxiliary braking device can be used for wellhead applications having a progressive cavity pump. A housing of the device independently mounts on the pump's existing drive using a mounting member, and an adapter on the housing connects to a rotatable drive shaft of the pump. A hydraulic motor on the housing has a motor shaft mechanically coupled to the adapter by a plurality of gears or the like. A control valve couples to the hydraulic motor and operates to control communication of hydraulic fluid through the hydraulic motor, thereby controlling rotation of the rotatable shaft. A controller and electric sensors can operated the control valve in response to the sensed rotation of the shaft. Alternatively, mechanical mechanisms can operate the control valve in response to the rotation of the drive shaft.
Un dispositif de freinage auxiliaire peut être utilisé pour des applications comportant une pompe à rotor hélicoïdal excentré. Un logement du dispositif se monte indépendamment sur l'entraînement existant de la pompe en utilisant un élément de montage, et un adaptateur sur le logement connecte à un arbre d'entraînement rotatif de la pompe. Un moteur hydraulique sur le logement possède un arbre moteur couplé mécaniquement à l'adaptateur par une pluralité d'engrenages ou d'éléments semblables. Une soupape de commande s'accouple au moteur hydraulique et fonctionne pour contrôler la communication d'un fluide hydraulique traversant le moteur hydraulique, par conséquent commandant la rotation de l'arbre rotatif. Ou bien des mécanismes mécaniques peuvent exploiter la soupape de commande sous l'effet de la rotation de l'arbre d'entraînement.
