ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An auxiliary connector for connection to a top terminal battery and a side terminal battery having first and second opposed jaws, means for resiliently urging the jaws together to grasp the top terminal, an adapter hinged to the first jaw, the adapter having an inoperative position and an operative position and including attachment means to engage the side terminal and means for locking the adapter in the second position, which includes at least one tooth on the second jaw and at least one locking slot in the adapter, the locking slot being aligned with, and entered by that tooth when the jaws move together while the adapter is in the second position whereby hinging of the adapter from the second position is prevented.
