A deadbolt or auxiliary lock is disclosed which can be mounted in a small (1 1/2") or large (2 1/8") lock set hole. A reversible cast adapter is provided which has a plate portion, small and. large diameter annular lips on one side and a large diameter lip on the other side with a torque limiting feature projecting axially from each small diameter lip.
