ABSTRACT This invention is an apparatus which can be added to an existing multi-receiver telephone line so that individual users along that line can alert other users to pick up their telephone handsets in order to answer a call. The signal may be audible or visual. It is activated by a user pressing the "Star Key" (*), then a numerical key on the telephone corresponding to that number assigned the telephone set on the line. The users of the system can, by means of a programmable dipswitch on the apparatus, assign specific numbers to each telephone set on the individual telephone line.
