A genetic deletion mutant live E. coli vaccine suitable for mass application to poultry, including chickens, is provided. Also provided is a safe and effective method to protect poultry against the ravages of Escherichia coli bacillosis infection and disease in which a live mutant aroA- gene deleted E. coli immunogen is administered to chickens, turkeys and the like via mass application routes such as coarse sprays and drinking water.

L'invention concerne un vaccin vivant contre E. coli, mutant, à délétion génétique, adapté à une administration en masse aux volailles, notamment aux poules. L'invention concerne également un procédé sûr et fiable de protection de volailles contres les ravages de maladies et d'infections du colibacille de Escherichia coli , consistant à administrer à des poules, dindes et similaires, un immunogène vivant contre E. coli , mutant, dans lequel le gène aroA à été supprimé, par l'intermédiaire de techniques d'administration en masse telles que la pulvérisation grossière ou par le biais de l'eau de consommation.
