Axially activated vial access adapter allowing repeated withdrawal of a medical fluid contained in the container by the use of a needless device such as a syringe barrel or IV set having a luer connector. The axially activated vial access adapter includes: an elastomeric stopper having a cavity extending from its distal end to its proximal end; a bottom insert positioned in the cavity of the elastomeric stopper; and a top insert of tube-like configuration slideably positioned in the bottom insert. The top insert contains a plug on its proximal end, and a male luer connector on its distal end for attachment to a syringe barrel or an IV set having a female luer connector. Moving the top insert distally or proximally, the plug on the proximal end of the top insert opens or closes the cavity in the elastomeric stopper thereby opening or closing fluid communication between the medical fluid contained in the container and the syringe barrel or IV set having a luer connector.
L'invention concerne un adaptateur d'accès à la fiole à activation axiale permettant le prélèvement répété d'un fluide médical contenu dans un récipient au moyen d'un dispositif sans aiguille tel qu'un cylindre de seringue ou un ensemble pour intraveineuse doté d'un raccord Luer. Cet adaptateur d'accès à la fiole à activation axiale comprend une butée élastomère munie d'une cavité se prolongeant entre son extrémité distale et son extrémité proximale, un élément rapporté inférieur situé dans la cavité de la butée élastomère, ainsi qu'un élément rapporté supérieur de configuration tubulaire logé coulissant dans l'élément rapporté inférieur. L'élément rapporté supérieur comporte un bouchon sur son extrémité proximale et un raccord Luer mâle sur son extrémité distale en vue d'un assemblage avec un cylindre de seringue ou un ensemble pour intraveineuse doté d'un raccord Luer femelle. Le déplacement distal ou proximal de l'élément rapporté supérieur implique l'ouverture ou la fermeture de la cavité dans la butée élastomère par le bouchon de l'extrémité proximale de l'élément rapporté supérieur, d'où l'interruption ou le rétablissement de la communication fluidique entre le fluide médical contenu dans le récipient et ledit cylindre de seringue ou ensemble pour intraveineuse doté d'un raccord Luer.
