Abstract of the Disclosure This invention relates to liquid hydrocarbon motor fuels improved by the addition of an azido compound. Specifically, the azido compounds of the present invention have the following general formulas N3-R2,N3-R2-N3, N3-R3-O-R4-N3. N3-R3-CO2-R4-N3, Image , Image , and Image , wherein R is an alkyl, alkyl hydroxy, primary alkyl ether, and alkyl ester and mixtures thereof; R2 is an alkyl or alkyl hydroxy, R3 and R4 are the same or different and comprise lower alkyl radicals and mixtures thereof; x is an integer from 1 to 5' y is an integer from 3 to about 20; and z is an integer from 3 to 20.
