An azo pigment showing excellent coloring characteristics such as tinctorial strength and hue and excellent fastness such as light fastness, and a pigment dispersion containing the azo pigment are provided. An azo pigment represented by the following general formula (1) and a pigment dispersion containing the pigment: (see formula I) wherein G represents an aliphatic group, an aryl group, or a heterocyclic group, Y represents a hydrogen atom or an aliphatic group, R1 represents an aliphatic group, an aliphatic amino group, an arylamino group, a heterocyclic amino group, an acylamino group, a sulfonamido group, an amino group, or a heterocyclic group, R2 and R3 each independently represents an aliphatic amino group, an arylamino group, a heterocyclic amino group, an acylamino group, a sulfonamido group, an amino group, or a heterocyclic group, X1 represents a nitrogen atom or C-Z, Z represents an electron-withdrawing group having a Hammett ..sigma.p value of 0.2 or more, X2 represents a nitrogen atom or C-R5, R5 represents a hydrogen atom, a cyano group, a carbamoyl group, an aliphatic oxycarbonyl group, or a carboxyl group, and n represents an integer of from 1 to 4.
Cette invention concerne un pigment azo et une dispersion pigmentaire qui présentent d'excellentes caractéristiques de couleur, notamment en termes de pouvoir colorant et de teinte, tout en présentant une durabilité excellente, notamment en ce qui concerne la résistance à la lumière. L'invention concerne spécifiquement un pigment azo de formule générale (1) et une dispersion pigmentaire. (1) (Dans la formule, G représente un groupe aliphatique, un groupe aryle ou un groupe hétérocyclique ; Y représente un atome d'hydrogène ou un groupe aliphatique ; R1 représente un groupe aliphatique, un groupe amino aliphatique, un groupe arylamino, un groupe amino hétérocyclique, un groupe acylamino, un groupe sulfonamide, un groupe amino ou un groupe hétérocyclique ; R2 et R3 représentent chacun un groupe amino aliphatique, un groupe arylamino, un groupe amino hétérocyclique, un groupe acylamino, un groupe sulfonamide, un groupe amino ou un groupe hétérocyclique ; X1 représente un atome d'azote ou C-Z ; Z représente un groupe d'élimination d'électron ayant une constante de Hammett sp des substituants non inférieure à 0,2 ; X2 représente un atome d'azote ou C-R5 ; R5 représente un atome d'hydrogène, un groupe cyano, un groupe carbamoyle, un groupe carboxyle ou un groupe oxycarbonyle aliphatique ; et n représente un entier de 1 à 4.)
