ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Azole compounds of the formula I Image (I) where R is fluorine, chlorine, bromine, C1-C4-alkyl, C1-C4- alkoxy, trifluoromethyl, phenyl or phenoxy and m is 0 or an integer from 1 to 5 and, when m is greater than 1, the individual atoms or groups may be identical or different, is tert-butyl, 5-methyl-1,3-dioxan-5-yl, 1-methylcyclohexyl, 2-methyltetrahydropyran-2-yl or Image R2 is hydrogen or C1-C5-alkyl, Y is ?C=O, ?C=N-OH or ?CR3OR4 with the proviso that Y is not ?C=O at the same time as R1 is tert- butyl and m is 0, R3 is hydrogen, methyl, vinyl, allyl, ethynyl or propynyl and R4 is hydrogen, C1-C4-alkyl, C2-C4- alkenyl, C2-C4-alkynyl or C2-C4-alkanoyl, processes for their preparation and their use as plant growth regulators.
