ABSTRACT Azolyl-pentene derivatives having a biocidal action and their manufacture and use. Novel azolyl-pentene derivatives of the general formula I Image (I) (in which R represents C1-C10-alkyl or C3-C8-alkenyl, R1 represents imidazol-1-yl or 1,2,4-triazol-1-yl, R2 represents aromatic hydrocarbon optionally mono-, di- or polysubstituted by Hal and/or C1-C4-alkyl and/or C1-C4-alkoxy and/or C1-C4-alkylthio and/or -CF3 and/or -NO2, or represents heterocyclic hydrocarbon, and Z represents -CO- or -CH(OH)-) and acid addition salts thereof with inorganic and organic acids, and their manufacture. The novel compounds have a biocidal action, especially a plant growth-regulation action, and accordingly may be made up with suitable carriers into biocidal preparations and may be used as plant growth-regulation agents, fungicides, herbicides and bactericides.
