A material having a superconducting transition temperature (Tc) of 126K under ambient pressure has been identified. The superconducting material belongs to a Ba-Ca-Cu-O compound family where the cation ratio of Ba : Ca : Cu is 2 : 2.5 ~ 0.5 : 3.5 ~ 0.5. The superconducting material is produced from precursor oxides having nominal formula Ba2Can-1+xCun+yOz wherein n=3 or 4 and x is 0.4 to 1.0 and y is 0 to 0.8 using high-pressure synthesis. Final synthesis temperature was maintained at less than 950 ~C. Formation of the superconducting material is sensitive to the state of the precursor oxides, the carbon content of the precursor, and the synthesis temperature, pressure and time.

On a identifié un matériau présentant une température de transition supraconductrice (T¿c?) de 126 K sous une pression ambiante. Le matériau supraconducteur appartient à une famille de composés Ba-Ca-Cu-O dans laquelle le rapport cationique de Ba : Ca : Cu est de 2 : 2,5 ± 0,5 : 3,5 ± 0,5. Le matériau supraconducteur est produit à partir d'oxydes précurseurs ayant la formule nominale Ba¿2?Ca¿n-1+x?Cu¿n+y?O¿z? dans laquelle n = 3 ou 4 et x est compris entre 0,4 et 1,0 et y est compris entre 0 et 0,8, au moyen d'une synthèse à haute pression. On a maintenu la température de synthèse finale à moins de 950 ·C. La formation du matériau supraconducteur est sensible à l'état des oxydes précurseurs, la teneur en carbone du précurseur et la température, la pression et le temps de synthèse.
