Baby supporting devices enable parents to keep one arm free while holding their child in the other. The devices relieve the stress on the supporting arm by distributing the weight of the child to the parent's waist or hip area. A simple device of this type includes a pair of arms defining a brace for mounting on a belt against the hip of a user, and a seat pivotally connected to the top end of the brace; and a lock for releasably locking the seat in a use position extending outwardly and upwardly from the side of the wearer. The lock can be released, so that the seat can be pivoted to a storage position, which is parallel to the side of the wearer.
