A device for monitoring the flexion, extension, and rotation of a user's torso. An upper and a lower sensing arm extend vertically in opposite directions from a measuring and control box that is held about the midsection by a belt, and both arms are spring biased to hold them against the user's back. The torso engaging portions of each of the sensing arms are curved to cup the engaged portion of the anatomy and thus allows for the sensing of torso rotation due to a pair of protrusions integral to the sensing arms and ensconced within the control box. Both arms are telescopically adjustable to allow the device to be fit to differently sized people and the amount of flexion, extension, and rotation that is allowed by the device before a warning tone is sounded is adjustable.
L'invention porte sur un dispositif de contrôle de la flexion, de l'extension et de la rotation du torse d'un utilisateur. Des bras capteurs supérieur et inférieur se prolongent verticalement, dans des directions opposées, à partir d'une boîte de mesure et de contrôle qui est retenue autour du thorax au moyen d'une ceinture. Les deux bras sont poussés par un ressort pour les retenir contre le dos de l'utilisateur. Les parties s'appuyant sur le torse, de chaque bras capteur, sont courbées de façon à épouser les parties de l'anatomie touchées. Il est ainsi possible de capter la rotation du torse au moyen d'une paire d'éléments saillants qui font partie intégrante des bras capteurs et qui sont enfoncés dans la boîte de contrôle. Les deux bras peuvent être réglés de façon télescopique pour permettre d'ajuster le dispositif aux différentes tailles des utilisateurs. En outre, il est possible de régler le degré de flexion, d'extension et de rotation permis par le dispositif avant qu'un signal sonore d'avertissement se fasse entendre.
