ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A novel composition is provided herein which is useful in the prophylaxis of disturbances in the normal intestinal bacteria flora in poultry. The composition is intended to be administered as an aqueous mix- ture and it contains anaerobic bacteria of intestinal origin and an agent, preferably cysteine, which serves to decrease the toxic effect of the oxygen dissolved in the water.
