The present invention relates to isolated nucleic acid molecules encoding an autoinducer inactivation protein, wherein the encoded protein comprises an amino acid sequence selected from the group consisting of 104HXHXDH109.sim.60aa.sim.H169.sim.21aa.sim.D191 and 103HXHXDH108.sim.72aa.sim.H180.sim.21aa.sim.D202, and to expression vectors and transformed plant and animal cells comprising the same. The proteins encoded by these nucleic acid molecules provide to a susceptible plant or animal increased resistance to a disease the virulence of which is regulated by autoinducers. Also provided are methods of increasing disease resistance in susceptible plants and animals.
La présente invention concerne des molécules d'acides nucléiques isolées codant une protéine d'inactivation d'auto-inducteur, la protéine codée portant une séquence d'acides aminés choisie dans le groupe comportant ?104¿HXHXDH?109¿.sim.60aa.sim.H?169¿.sim.21aa.sim.D?191¿ et ?103¿HXHXDH?108¿.sim.72aa.sim.H?180¿.sim.21aa.sim.D?202¿, ainsi que des vecteurs d'expression et des cellules végétales ou animales transformées contenant lesdites molécules. Les protéines codées par ces molécules d'acide nucléiques permettent de conférer à une plante ou à un animal susceptibles une résistance accrue à une maladie dont la virulence est régulée par des auto-inducteurs. L'invention concerne également un procédé destiné à augmenter la résistance à des maladies chez des plantes ou animaux susceptibles.
