The bag has a pouch made up of walls which are attached to adjacent walls by fold lines. The walls open to admit excrement and close to confine the excrement within the pouch. A front wall of the pouch has a flap which pivots from a closed position in which the outer surface of the flap is adjacent to the front wall and an open position in which the flap is generally co-planar with the outer wall. A pocket is formed on the outer surface of the flap for receipt of the blade of a spatula or a screw driver. The bag includes an enclosure within which the pouch is confined when it contains excrement. The enclosure has a central segment which is attached to the pouch and a pair of outer segments which are attached to opposite sides of the central segment by fold lines and which fold over the pouch in order to prevent excrement from accidentally discharging from the pouch.
