ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A plastics bag for cultivating mushrooms has at least a portion thereof formed from a polypropylene microporous film reinforced with a non-woven poly- propylene web that is permeable to gas but impermeable to bacteria and microbes infectious to mushroom cultivation. The bag is made by sealing a continuous strip of non-porous film to a continuous strip of the microporous film, longitudinally folding the two component strip on to itself and sealing it to form a tube. The tube is then cut into lengths, each of which is sealed at one end to form a bag.
