A method and apparatus for gripping a bag and downstream handling, such as application of a header label to the bag. The bag, which has previously been filled with a product, is presented to the apparatus at an upstream bag presentation and accepting station and is gripped proximate its top. It is then transferred from the upstream bag accepting station to a downstream bag release station. Before being released, the bag travels to an intermediate label application station where a label is readied, the label then being transferred upstream to a second position and applied to the bag. Thereafter, the bag proceeds downstream, with the label, and the label is sealed to the bag. A series of grippers are employed for accepting a stream of discreet bags in a continuous manner. The grippers are recirculated continuously so that the apparatus operates continuously so long as bags are presented for application of a label.
Machine et procédé pour saisir et transporter un sac (80) puis le manipuler en aval, en particulier pour y appliquer une étiquette-fermoir (112). Le sac (80), dans lequel un produit a été préalablement placé, est présenté à l'appareil à une station de présentation et de réception des sacs (12) située en amont, où il est saisi par sa partie supérieure. Il est ensuite transporté de cette station située en amont (12) à une station de dégagement des sacs (16) située en aval. Avant d'être relâché, il passe par une station intermédiaire d'application d'étiquettes (14), où est préparée une étiquette (112) qui est transportée vers l'amont jusqu'à une seconde position et appliquée sur le sac (80). Ensuite, le sac (80) est transporté vers l'aval, avec l'étiquette (112) qui est scellée sur le sac (80). Une série de griffes à circulation continue (18) permet de réceptionner un courant de sacs séparés (80) d'une manière continue. L'appareil fonctionne tant que des sacs (80) lui sont présentés en vue de l'application d'une étiquette (112).
