ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed is a folded bag stacking apparatus where a selected number of folded bags are accumulated in successive pockets defined by articulated partitions carried by an endless conveyor operating substantially in a vertical plane. The motion of the conveyor is intermittent but during periods of movement bags are accumulated in a pocket which moves out of the trajectory of the bags after the pocket contains a selected number of bags. The group of bags are discharged by a stack transfer mechanism to a horizontally disposed conveyor moving the bag stacks to a manual or automatic unloading station.
