BAGGAGE LOCK Abstract A lock having an escutcheon assembly and a plunger. The escutcheon assembly is constructed to be mounted on a movable closure member to be held in a closed position on a frame relative to which the closure member is movably mounted. The plunger is mounted to the escutcheon assembly in an operative position for movement relative to the escutcheon assembly selectively between latched and unlatched positions. Structure is provided on the escutcheon assembly for moving the plunger from a location remote from the plunger from its latched position into its unlatched position. Cooperating structure is provided on the plunger and the escutcheon assembly for a) allowing the plunger and escutcheon assembly to be relatively repositioned between an unassembled state in which the plunger and the escutcheon assembly are completely separated, each from the other, and the operative position for the plunger and escutcheon assembly by relatively moving the plunger and escutcheon assembly, one against the other in an assembly direction and b) maintaining the plunger and escutcheon assembly in their operative position.
