Abstract of the Disclosure An automatic weighing and bagging machine and method for holding and opening a first bag of a plurality of juxtaposed bags held in the machine in a manner whereby the first bag may be filled with a weighed product and released from the plurality of bags. The automatic weighing machine comprises a weighing bucket adapted to receive the products to be weighed therein. A scale is provided for weighing the products on the weighing bucket. A sensor senses the predetermined displacement of a displaceable element associated with the scale and indicative of a desired weight of the products on the platform. A circuit is connected to the sensor and includes a mechanism to prevent the products to be discharged when the products which are being weighed are under the desired weight.
