A B S T R A C T A process for locating defective filters or other leaks in the interface separating the dirty and clean air plenums of a baghouse. A photoluminescent powder, in the amount of at least 1/4 pound per 1,000 square feet of filter, is dispersed within the dirty air plenum and the clean air plenum is then illuminated with a light source. Leaks and ruptures are identified by the glowing deposit of tracer ad- jacent the defect or around the mouth of a ruptured bag.
