A problem which has plagued bagpipers since the invention of the highland bagpipe, is that of moisture condensation on the reeds and inside of the instrument. This condensation both reduces instrument life and adversely affects the tone of the notes being played. My invention, which will be described in the following pages, is a moisture trap for the practice chanter which can be periodically emptied with ease at the player's convenience. This invention causes the formation of water droplets (from moisture in the air stream) to occur in a location of the instrument which does not cause any problems with the tone or operation of the instrument.
