A b s t r a c t A baking oven has a baking chamber which is at both of its sides separated from air channels by partitions being provided with air passage openings . The air channels are connected to air supply channels which are supplied with warm air by a blower via a switching equipment being centrally arranged relative to the cover wall of the baking chamber , said switching equipment having preferably the shape of a flap being swivellable around a horizontal axis. On account thereof, the baking chamber is uniformly supplied with warm air which flows through the baking chamber in horizontal and alternating direction
