ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Gymnastic apparatus comprising a balance beam having a resilient coating or padding thereon which is itself covered with a layer of material which, although having some resilience, is more stable than the resilient coating or padding. As distinct from balance beams of the prior art, which have varying resiliency over the top surfaces thereof and whose top surfaces are not sufficiently stable for the athlete, the present balance beam has a top surface which is resilient but has substantial stability and a substantially uniform flexibility.
