An apparatus (26) for use in a furnace system to facilitate efficient and complete combustion of coal streams in a carrier gas. The apparatus (26) , capable of being positioned horizontally or vertically in the coal pipes (24, 24-1, 24-2) between the grinding mills (20) and the furnace burner (32), contains a plurality of adjustable blades (40, 41) that are movable between an open and closed position. The position of the adjustable blades and the differing geometric shapes of the apparatus housing (42) manipulate the amount and direction of coal streams in a carrier gas. This design reduces the amount of turbulent eddies in the pipe system, which helps to achieve a more homogenous flow of coal in a carrier gas and the efficient and complete combustion of coal in a carrier gas within the furnace burner (32).
L'invention concerne un appareil (26) destiné à être utilisé dans un système de four pour que la combustion de flux de charbon dans un gaz porteur soit facilitée, efficace et complète. Cet appareil (26) peut être positionné horizontalement ou verticalement dans les conduites à charbon (24, 24-1, 24-2), entre les broyeurs (20) et le brûleur (32) du four, et contient une pluralité d'aubes ajustables (40, 41) pouvant être déplacées entre une position ouverte et une position fermée. La position de ces aubes ajustables et les différentes formes géométriques du logement (42) de cet appareil permettent de réguler la quantité et la direction de flux de charbon dans un gaz porteur.
